The art of the temporary tattoo is a very old one. Different cultures around the world have been using plant derived colors to commemorate important events. Body art, in the form of temporary tattoos have been used to enhance the beauty of women from the Mehendi used in India, to the Henna used in Morocco and other North African countries.Temporary Tattoos in Sports

The tattoos of old were painted by hand, using one color only; reddish-brown. To compensate for the lack of color, the designs in these tattoos were very intricate and elaborate. Those who applied the tattoo were considered artists and held in high regard.

Today’s temporary tattoos are much simpler to apply. Most of them come in the form of a decal that is put against the skin. The other side is moistened and that transfers the tattoo onto the skin.

Since they became so easy to apply and inexpensive to purchase, temporary tattoos have become more and more popular in the last few years. They can be used to try on a permanent tattoo, and most of the tattoo parlors have a temporary tattoo of their permanent designs. They can be given as party favors at birthday parties and other important personal celebrations, and they can be used to boost up team spirits.

As a coach you have to constantly inspire your group with talks, battle cries and slogans. You want them to feel like a team and to work like one. For them to remember the slogan after a talk is over, you can give them temporary tattoos with your battle cry or slogan on them.Temporary Tattoos in Sports 2

That makes your team unique. Every time one team member is looking at another, the slogan is there to remind them of their uniqueness and goal.

Making temporary tattoos work for you is easy and cheap. You can design your own tattoo that will reflect what you would like the team members to remember; the spirit, the goal, the victory.

How would your players feel if most of their followers support the same slogan on, let’s say, their left cheek? You can give those away at the entrance point and identify your followers among the crowd.Temporary Tattoos in Sports 3

The biggest advantage of the temporary tattoo is, of course, their impermanence. When the event is over and the tattoo washed, it will slowly fade away and disappear. This game is over, now it’s time for the new one.

>>Temporary Tattoos – What They Represent

Posted On: 30-Dec-09

We’ve all seen temporary tattoos and how they look.  We’ve seen them applied to several parts of the body.  If we don’t know the person, it’s easy to dismiss it as just some random design even if he’s wearing large temporary tattoos.  While it may be true in some cases, most temporary body tattoos represent something.

Most people use them as a way to express themselves.  But usually, there’s a deeper meaning to it.  Before, temporary tattoos were used just as a body art.  Let’s face it, a lot of people, including you and me, are interested in body art.  It’s always been said that our body is a wonderful canvas for art.  That’s why permanent tattoo parlors are still in business.  With permanent tattoos, it’s easy to know what it represents.  It can be a verse that serves as their mantra, a picture of their loved one or even an image to show toughness.  It can even be a tattoo of what they personally represent.  So it can be a group or an organization.

It’s hard for us to use temporary body tattoos to represent something if our choices are limited to the usual roses and butterflies.  If you wanted to have large temporary tattoos representing school spirit, it wasn’t really an option before.  If you want temporary tattoos to raise awareness for AIDS but there’s no red ribbon available, you really can’t use the red rose because it doesn’t have the same impact.  Nowadays, you can easily use temporary body tattoos to represent what you truly believe in.  They are becoming more and more like permanent tattoos.  How can this be?  There is now an option to customize your own design.

So how can this help you?  We all have something that we believe in.  Are you going to the school gym for your school’s biggest game this year against your bitter rivals?  Show up at the gym with a bunch of large temporary tattoos with a fierce image of your school’s mascot.  Are you having a fundraiser for AIDS victims?  Give out temporary body tattoos of a red ribbon and the date.  Seeing it would spark the inner beauty of people that would make them want to help out, and as a bonus they know when the event’s going to take place so they can help out.  You can also start your own movement for a cause that you want to raise awareness for.  Use temporary tattoos as giveaways and start creating awareness.  We all want to represent something.  Make people wear what they represent by providing them with custom temporary tattoos.

>>Fundraising with Kids

Posted On: 22-Dec-09

You’re a youth leader with a fundraiser on your hands.  How can you inspire your kids to great salesmanship, and high profits—in two weeks or less?

  • Choose Your Product Wisely

What has your group previously sold?  How did they perform?  If your group is known for its annual popcorn sales, don’t rock the boat.  You have customers just waiting for the right month to roll around so they can get their checkbook out and order their regular supply.  When looking for new products, choose something your team can be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about.  Take the time of year into account—few people will be inspired to buy pumpkin pie in April, for example, and no one is in the mood to spend right after Christmas.  Consider products for your demographics.  Expensive jewelry or cooking equipment won’t sell well in a middle-to-low income area. And try before you buy—you don’t want to commit to a fundraiser only to find the items are of poor quality.

  • Prepare Your Sales Force

Make sure your team knows what they’re selling and why they’re selling it.  Even if a neighbor has thirty unused candles in her closet, she’ll buy another for a good cause.  Teach kids to dress appropriately; a neat, clean appearance is important, and school-related clothing is ideal.  Help them make a list of contacts, including parents’ coworkers.  Some kids are shy; let them practice their sales pitches with you.  Most importantly, teach them to thank the customer, even if they did not buy.

  • Provide Incentives

Kids love to be rewarded for their efforts. A small prize says they’ve done well, and inspires them to do more.  Provide awards for top sellers, early birds, top classes or teams, and let kids draw for daily prizes so everyone has a chance to win something.   Keep awards small, to avoid cutting into your profits.

  • Safety First!

Remind kids and parents about safe selling strategies.  It’s best for kids to sell only to people they know, rather than go door-to-door.  If older kids canvass the neighborhood, they should go with a buddy, or have a parent with them. They should keep the money in a secure place and give it up without protest if necessary. They should never, under any circumstances, enter a customer’s house.

Temporary Tattoos Make Sales FunFundraising with Kids

If you need a fun, safe, affordable product, temporary tattoos are terrific!  They’re custom-made; just send in your designs.  They’re well-made, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and fashioned with FDA-approved materials.  They’re popular with kids—who love to wear them—and parents, who love that they’re easily removable and don’t clog the vacuum.  Temporary tattoos are a wonderful incentive.  They can carry a sales or congratulatory message, and display the child’s sales achievement to the entire organization.  They can be used to drum up fundraising enthusiasm, and let customers know what group your team represents.

Looking for a unique, creative sales product or award that they can proudly display from an arm, leg or cheek? Look no further than temporary tattoos!

>>Temporary Tattoos Instead of Henna Tattoos

Posted On: 22-Dec-09

There’s always been a competition between temporary tattoos and henna tattoos because they basically have the same market.  They market their products to people who want to have body art but don’t want to go through the pain of getting a permanent tattoo.  Let’s face it.  Not everyone can handle the pain of a permanent tattoo.

In order to know which one is better for you, it’s important to know what each of them bring to the table.  Let’s talk about Henna tattoos first.  This is like getting a permanent tattoo.  You have to sit down with an artist while he applies the henna to your body.  But do you know its history?  The word henna was derived from the Arabic name given to a flowering plant.  The plant itself produces lawsone which is then used to dye skin.  Lawsone has the capacity to bond well with the skin so it became a popular alternative to permanent tattoos.

So what’s the advantage of temporary tattoos over henna?  Isn’t henna better because you can easily customize the design that you want?  That may be the case years ago.  But nowadays, there are a lot of temporary tattoo designs to choose from making temporary tattoos as versatile as henna.  Before, you can only choose from limited designs.  Your choices back then are usually among roses, butterflies or hearts.  But now, makers of premium quality temporary tattoos have a large selection of today’s hottest tattoo designs.  You can easily browse the designs online and it is also usually updated.

Making temporary tattoos is also easier.  Unless you have the insane talent of applying your own henna tattoo, temporary tattoos are the better option if you want to be able to apply them anytime.  So how do you make your own?  All you need to do is have a customized design ready.  You don’t have to be contented with designs that you don’t want.  You can easily approach manufacturers with your temporary tattoo designs and they’ll take care of it for you.  Also, there’s less hassle in applying and removing them.  You don’t have to wait for it to dry and you won’t have any problems removing it.

You can also put the temporary tattoos to good use.  You can easily think of a way in making temporary tattoos useful and profitable.  Are you still in school?  Why not create temporary tattoo designs to raise the school spirit during games?  Are you currently working for a company?  You can make them to raise brand awareness during events.  It’s a good marketing tool because it’s inexpensive but effective.  If you have a good cause in mind, you can raise a lot of money if you use temporary tattoos to raise awareness during a fundraiser.  You can even use them as giveaways and the crowd is sure to like it.  With your temporary tattoo designs, you can easily purchase them wholesale.  You don’t have to pay a lot of money for it making temporary tattoos the better alternative than henna tattoos.

>>How to Make Temporary Tattoos Stand Out

Posted On: 17-Dec-09

imagesWhy wouldn’t anyone want to make temporary tattoos stand out?  It’s creative and it’s usually meaningful to you.  So when making temporary tattoos, you should take into consideration the impact that it’s going to make.

Using temporary tattoos is a wiser alternative if you just want to send your message across in an event.  It’s now a popular choice for those planning a gathering.  Aside from t-shirts, it’s one of the most visible during gatherings and events meant to support a cause or an individual.  Let’s face it.  Permanent tattoos are out of the question if you’re just going to need it for a day or two.

So when making temporary tattoos, what are the factors that you should consider to make sure that it will stand out?  Here are some things to consider if you’re going to make temporary tattoos:

  1. If you’re using it to rally a crowd or raise team spirit, make sure that the design is obvious.  This is easy.  If you’re supporting a team, a design of the team’s emblem is a good choice.  If you’re supporting a cause, you can make one that is relevant to your cause.
  2. It should be a statement.  Statements are not reserved for statement shirts.  If you have a crowd, then you have this one covered.  A good example is the design of a red ribbon.  Before, no one knew that it’s in support of AIDS awareness.  But with crowds gathering for this cause wearing the red ribbon, it became the global symbol for AIDS awareness.  The same goes for the American Bald Eagle design.  We all know that it’s about patriotism.
  3. It should be colorful and creative.  If it’s all black, it’s hard to make out what the design is.  If you’re using temporary tattoos, it’s usually small.  To make temporary tattoos stand out, be sure that the design is colorful and creative.  It’s a good chance for you to unleash your creative side so make it count.
  4. It should last long.  A good temporary tattoo can last for 5-10 days.  There’s no point in using temporary tattoos if it’s going to fade halfway through your event.
  5. It should be in season.  You can also use it if you’re just organizing a party or a get-together.  If it’s a Halloween party, using scary designs makes sense.

Making temporary tattoos is easy.  But if you don’t take those considerations in mind, it wouldn’t matter.  No one’s going to see it and no one’s going to care because they don’t understand what it’s about.  If you’re organizing an event and you plan on designing one without taking the cause into consideration, why would anyone wear a tattoo that doesn’t support that cause even if it’s just temporary?

Crowds attending events are used to the shirts, armbands and caps which event organizers usually give them.  You’re organizing an event to raise team spirit and awareness.  You’re there to help rally the crowd and using temporary tattoos is a good start.  You can then leave the yelling to the crowd.

>>Promotion on a Budget

Posted On: 15-Dec-09

Got an event, competition, fundraiser, business, or product you need to promote, and very little cash to spend?  Here are some affordable publicity ideas; one may be right for you!

  • Engage your local media.

You can buy a low-cost ad, but you can also make yourself the story.  Are you a single mother starting your own business?  Sell your personal story as local interest news, or offer yourself for interviews about small businesses.  The same can be done for fundraisers, particularly if you’re raising money for a charitable cause.  If you’re a newly-published author, you’ve done something few others will do, but which many find interesting; send local media outlets a press release, again, selling yourself and not simply your book.

  • Goody Bags

Building a customer base for your restaurant, online business or local shop?  Provide goody bags of your best treats to area businesses, along with a coupon.  Authors can stuff goody bags with treats and freebies related to their books.  Artists, musicians, and entertainers can do the same, as can any small business owner.  Provide a sample of your product, and don’t overstuff your bags; the idea is to intrigue, not to make a mess.  Don’t forget to include a business card and your web address.

  • The Internet and Social Networking

Here’s where all that time online pays off—literally!  If you can sell your friends on your product, event, or service, social networking provides a way for instant word-of-mouth promotions. Many people look on the web before they look in the phonebook.  You can provide information online that you can’t easily provide anywhere else. Don’t have a website? Get one, and put time and money into making it attractive and easy to navigate.  Money spent here is money well spent.

  • Spread Your Message.

Research suggests that you need to reach a customer at least seven times before she decides to buy, and that the more venues in which a person sees your business, the more likely he is to become a client.  Vary advertising: media, online, customer referrals, community bulletin boards, t-shirts, business cards, presentations, signs, flyers, and mass mailings are techniques to consider.

Temporary Tattoos: A Unique Promotional Tool

Temporary tattoos can be the perfect way to promote your business, product, or event.  Because they’re customized with your designs, you can use your company logo, the title or cover of your book, your band name, school event, or any conceivable graphic.  They’re perfect for inserting into goody bags, for providing to customer’s children, for dollar signgetting college students to promote your band, to spread “buzz” about your new restaurant.  Want more visitors to attend your church?  A temporary tattoo with a Bible verse or church name is a perfect conversation starter for the shyest evangelist.   Temporary tattoos are extremely affordable, easy to apply, and easy to remove.  Plus, they’re hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and made only of FDA-approved materials.

Temporary tattoos are a colorful, fun way to get your name out and bring the community in!
